7 days without M$ window$
hi,
i am very happy, because i am no more depending on M$ Window$
i am using Ubuntu (6.06) for 7 days… no pain, no hard feeling, all required software are in my box…
just need to apply “apt-get install blah”
here is the list of my daily used tools/software:
1. IntelliJ IDEA (JAVA IDE)
2. SVN (subversion)
3. Thunderbird (mail client)
4. FireFox (Web browser)
5. Maven2 (java project management tool)
6. Resin 3.0.x (Java application server)
7. OpenLDAP
8. MySQL
9. GEdit (Notepad type editor)
10. GAIM (Messenger)
11. Apache2
12. Rhythmbox
13. MPlayer
and other more specific java + php + ruby related tools…

very known problem though… i am posting my blog so i can find it out later….
just simple solution append this “?useServerPrepStmts=false” string to your jdbc uri
for example: url=jdbc:mysql://localhost/escenic?useServerPrepStmts=false
it is a BuG filed over here

Jawed Karim, a 22 year old software engineer, is the co-founder of the popular video sharing website YouTube. His father is Bangladeshi and his mother German.
